This year’s Apple Watch can learn to measure blood sugar levels

Apple is constantly trying to add new health features to its smartwatches. For example, last year the Coopertinos equipped the Apple Watch with an ECG scanner, and this year the Apple Watch can learn to measure blood sugar.

At the moment, Apple’s patent portfolio has at least a couple of documents that describe methods for measuring blood sugar using wearable devices. However, recently new information appeared on the network, which hints at the imminent appearance of a similar feature in the Apple Watch.

According to the head of Dexcom, which is one of the leading manufacturers of glucometers, in the near future they can start working closely with Apple. Details of cooperation are, of course, unknown. However, there is information on the network that the project will be somehow connected with the Dexcom G6 system.

Today, the Dexcom G6 system can already work with apple smartwatches through a special transmitter sold separately. However, there is a possibility that in the future Apple will implement a deeper integration of such devices with the Apple Watch. We are talking about adding a built-in glucometer to the apple watch.
