Apple to pay at least $4.5 billion to zualcomm

Apple entered into a global agreement with zualcomm in early April. Around the same time, the network reported that the Coopertinos paid the chipmaker a significant compensation of $6 billion. However, the latest data show that the amount was slightly less – about 5 billion.

Recently, the company published another quarterly report, which revealed that Apple will pay the chipmaker between 4.5 and 4.7 billion dollars. The exact amount will depend on the method of counting the payment. Apparently, this payment should pay off the debt, which was formed after the Coopertinos stopped paying royalties.

It is worth noting that in the past network sources also reported the deductions that Apple will pay from each iPhone sold. According to unofficial data, each realized apple smartphone will bring about 8-9 dollars.

Initially, it was assumed that the main reason for the conclusion of the peace agreement was Apple’s desire to quickly get at its disposal 5G modems. However, today this information was indirectly refuted by Tim Cook. He noted that Apple is not considering using 5G in its devices. According to Cook, the time for mass adoption of such technology has not yet come.
