Apple pays great attention to the security of its mobile operating system. However, as practice shows in iOS there are enough vulnerabilities. Six new “holes” in the apple mobile operating system were discovered some time ago by members of the Google Project zero team.
According to available data, all vulnerabilities are related to the mechanism of sending and receiving messages and can potentially be used to gain control of the mobile device. What’s more, four of the six bugs could have enabled attackers to perform malicious code on a remote iOS device without having to interact with the user. And it is enough to send a distorted message to the victim’s smartphone. Two more errors can be used to read data from the device’s memory.
The Google Project zero team is not yet ready to share details about the new vulnerabilities in iOS. The information will be published only after the Coopertinos correct all the shortcomings. Apple has so far fixed five of the six vulnerabilities – the security patch was included in the iOS 12.4 update. Another error has not yet been completely fixed.
