New MacBook Pro with i9 chip tested in Geekbench

A few days ago, Apple unveiled an updated MacBook Pro that featured advanced keyboards and Intel processors for the eighth and ninth generations. While the new products have not reached their customers – Coopertinoov promise delivery within a week. However, the network already has the first tests of the MacBook Pro sample of 2019.

According to Apple, thanks to the new processors, the updated “pros” in performance are significantly superior to the models of the previous generation. In some cases, the increase can be as high as 40%. However, the MacBook Pro tests with Intel Core i9-9980HK processor, 32GB of RAM and Radeon Pro Vega 20 graphics show slightly different data.

According to the results of testing the laptop in Geekbench 4, in the single-core test the novelty scores 5979 points, and in multi-core – 29,184 points. The results are quite decent. In performance, the MacBook Pro with the i9 chip bypasses the Mac Pro, in configurations with 6- and 8-core Intel Xeon processors.

However, if you compare the test results of the new “proshka” with the MacBook Pro (2018), the difference is about 30% in the multi-core test. The latter scores 5348 and 22,620 points in single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.
