During the announcement of the results of the third quarter of fiscal 2019, the head of Apple shared some details about the company’s upcoming plans. In particular, Tim Cook named the approximate launch date of the Apple Card service.
According to Cook, now the new Apple service is actively testing thousands of employees of the company. And the tests are not limited to “laboratory” conditions for a long time. Apple employees use the Apple Card every day. The full launch of the service is scheduled for August.
According to the latest data, which was recently shared by Bloomberg, at first the service will be available only in the United States. This is due to the fact that it was in its “home” market that Apple managed to obtain all the necessary permits from the regulatory authorities, as well as to enlist the support of Goldman Sachs bank. The latter will be responsible for issuing credit cards.
Apple plans to launch Apple Card in about three dozen countries around the world. The exact list is not yet available. However, it is known that it will include the countries of the European Union and Hong Kong. Sources note that some time ago Apple has already registered the Trademark Apple Card in these countries and began negotiations with local regulators and banks.
