Even before the official presentation of iPadOS, network sources reported that after WWDC 2019 Apple tablets will be able to work with external manipulators. During the presentation, the Coopertinos did not focus on this. However, well-known developer Steve Troughton-Smith reported that the iPad began to support the mouse.
By installing the first iOS 13 test build, Troughton-Smith quickly discovered that an external manipulator can now be connected to the iPad. And this applies not only to the mouse, but also the trackpad. You can connect external manipulators with a wire (via Type-C or Lightning) or Bluetooth.
Judging by first impressions, it’s easy to control your iPad with your mouse. The left click mimics the usual tap, and the wheel is responsible for scrolling. All the settings that are responsible for the external manipulator are located in the AssistiveTouch section.
Steve Troughton-Smith also noted that the mouse allows you to interact not only with standard applications. The cursor must remain healthy in almost all programs from the App Store.
