At the TIME 100 summit, discussing the passion of modern users of mobile devices and Apple’s role in this issue, the head of the Apple company made an interesting statement. Tim Cook noted that they did not initially plan to “tie” people to the iPhone. Moreover, the head of Apple urged users to look less often into the screen of the smartphone.
Tim Cook noted that the company has always tried to make sure that users first of all devote time to their own business and communication in the real world. In addition, not so long ago, the Coopertinos added to iOS the function “Screen Time” that should help to cope with the dependence on the smartphone.
It is worth noting that in the past Tim Cook has made similar statements. In particular, at the end of last year, the head of Apple said that he was noticeably less likely to use the iPhone, and also turned off most notifications. This helped him free up some time.
Interestingly, not all journalists agree that Apple did not “tie” users to the iPhone. For example, the authors of TechCrunch criticized Cook’s position. They stressed that it was Apple that created the push notification mechanism and encouraged developers to actively apply it in their applications.
