Society for Information Display (SID) hosted the 25th Display Industry Awards 2019. The award celebrates the best screens for wearable devices, TVs, cars and other equipment in terms of technology and quality. This year’s award was won by three screens at once. Among the prize-winners were the latest apple smartwatches.
Experts noted that Apple engineers managed to equip the Apple Watch Series 4 with a large screen size, without changing the dimensions of the device. They were also able to improve the energy efficiency of the display. It is for these reasons that the Screen Apple Watch Series 4 and received a high award.
As mentioned above, three devices have received the Display Industry Awards 2019. In addition to the Apple smartwatch, SID experts also noted Samsung’s modular 8K TV, the Wall, made using microLED technology, and Sony’s Crystal LED Display system.
It is worth noting that Apple is not the first year awarded display industry awards. In the past, iPhone X and iPad Pro displays have been awarded in the past.
