Apple still paid Samsung compensation for unused OLED screens

Some time ago it became known that Apple did not fulfill the terms of the contract with Samsung, and did not buy the specified number of OLED panels for the iPhone. This was due to the low demand for the latest apple smartphones. Today it became known that the Coopertinoovs had to pay Samsung more than 683 million dollars in compensation.

Recently, network sources reported that Apple did not plan to pay the Korean giant a large compensation. Instead, the Coopertinos offered Samsung a new contract for the supply of OLED panels for laptops and tablets. However, judging by the latest data, Samsung is not interested in such conditions.

As it became known, compensation was made in the second quarter of this year. However, despite the impressive fine, Samsung expects a significant drop in operating profit. According to the preliminary report, Samsung’s profit will decrease by 56% in the second quarter of this year. Experts attribute this state of affairs to falling chip prices, market glut and U. S. sanctions against China’s Huawei, which is one of Samsung’s key customers.
