Together with the Mac Pro, Apple has unveiled its own new-generation branded monitor. The new product called Pro Cinema XDR is made in the style of a revamped professional computer. It costs about the same, by the way.
Pro Cinema XDR stands out against most of the displays available on the market. The new product features a 32-inch IPS screen with a 6K resolution (6016-3384), 10-bit colors and full P3 spectrum coverage.
The monitor supports TrueTone, provides a contrast level of 1,000,000:1 and brightness at 1000 nit (1600 at peak). Separately, the Coopertinos emphasized that the heating of the display does not affect the characteristics of pixels. A fluted aluminum lid was designed to combat the excess heat. In design, it repeats the front panel of the new Mac Pro.
When buying Pro Cinema XDR, users can choose between two types of screen coverage. The first is a regular glass, and the second is an advanced matte coating called Nano-texture glass. According to the Words of the Coopertinos, the latter will best prove itself in “challenging conditions.” As for prices, the basic model will cost $4,999, and the matte version will cost a thousand more.
However, it is also worth bearing in mind that Apple sells Pro Cinema XDR without a coaster. It will have to pay another $999 separately. As a result, the final cost of the basic version of the new Apple monitor with a stand is almost equal to the price of the Mac Pro.
