Apple drops to third place in the ranking of smartphone suppliers

Recently, the analytical company Gartner published a new report that demonstrates the situation in the global smartphone market in the first quarter of this year. According to experts, Apple has lost its position. Compared to last year, sales of apple smartphones decreased by 10 million units.

Gartner analysts note that in the first quarter of this year, global smartphone sales declined slightly. Compared to the same period in 2018, they sagged by 2.7% and by 8.65% compared to the end of last year.

As for the “results” of companies, Samsung is still the market leader. The Korean giant managed to sell 71.62 million of its units in the first quarter. At the same time, compared to the same period last year, Samsung lost just over 1% of the market, and total sales decreased by almost 7 million.

In second place is the long-suffering Huawei. Despite the difficulties in the U. S., the company was able to sell 58.4 million smartphones, increasing its share from 10.5% to 15.7%. Smartphone sales increased by 18 million compared to the first quarter of 2018.

Apple dropped to third place in the rankings. The apple giant lost about 4% of the market during the year, and total iPhone sales fell by almost 10 million units, from 54.1 million to 44.57 million.
