Apple focuses not on quantity, but on the quality of content for Apple TV

The other day, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Software, Eddie Cue, spoke to reporters at The Times and shared some details about the Apple TV service.

Asked by reporters what users should expect from the new Apple service, Eddy Cue said that Apple will not focus on a lot of content. Instead, the company wants to attract consumers with quality films and shows. Initially, this may result in a lot of content in Apple TV. Over time, however, the situation must improve.

It is worth noting that this approach is not typical of competitors. In particular, Netflix, on the contrary, tries to offer users as much diverse content as possible. Eddie Cue doesn’t see anything wrong with that strategy. At the same time, however, he notes that this is not Apple’s way.

In addition, Apple’s vice president of software noted that initially there were very few people in the company who understood anything in the television sphere. Yes, many were active consumers, but that didn’t make them experts. It was for this reason that it was decided to hire people to help succeed in the new field. Two such specialists were former Sony executives – Jamie Ehrlicht and zack Van Amburg.
