Apple wants to equip its AR headset with sensors to track emotions

Recently it became known that the Coopertinos filed another application with the U. S. Patent and Trademark Office, which is related to the augmented reality headset. According to available data, Apple offers to equip the device with additional sensors and sensors. The latter will be used to track the user’s facial features, eyes and hands.

The headset described in the patent must be equipped with two sets of sensors. The first will monitor the surrounding space, and the second – to monitor the eyes of the user. There are also other variations of the system in the patent. In particular, sensors can be added to existing sensors to track the position of the head, arms, eyebrows, lower jaw, etc.

Using such a set of sensors can help Apple create an advanced system that will significantly improve the capabilities of animoji and memoji. The development of similar gadgets is now led by some companies. For example, Facebook is already creating virtual reality headsets that can track facial expressions and translate them into virtual avatars.

Sensors responsible for tracking the position of hands in space should be useful for simplifying the process of managing augmented reality. However, it is not yet known when Apple will be going to implement the ideas described in the patent in serial devices.
