Apple took the unusual step and created a separate version of iOS 13 specifically for their tablet computers. The “offshoot” of the mobile operating system, created specifically for the iPad, was called iPadOS.
In the last few years, Apple has actually developed its mobile operating system in two directions: for smartphones and tablets. Especially for iPad, the Coopertinos have added Split View and Slide Over modes, Dock panels, additional gestures, etc. iPadOS to the iOS mode, and iPadOS can be considered a logical extension of previous updates.
In iPadOS, Apple has modified the home screen, allowing users to place special widgets on it. In addition, the Coopertinos added a large number of different gestures for multitasking. The latter help to switch between applications, copy paste, cut out different information, close programs, etc.
Apple has also modified SplitView (two programs on the same screen). You can now run two identical apps. For example, two different lists, a couple of emails, two text editors, etc.
The Files app has also been thoroughly modified. It’s got a quick action panel to make changes to your files, as well as support for sharing resources under the SMB protocol and removable drives. There is no data on support for external manipulators yet.
Safari has been modified. The browser received 30 new shortcuts when working with an external keyboard, text size controls, settings for each individual site, and options for uploading images. The app also got a handy download manager, similar to the one in the desktop version of Safari.
