Apple has received 26 complaints about the MacBook Pro fire, according to the U. S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
In most cases, when laptops were ignited, the personal belongings of users who were near the computer suffered in the first place. However, no serious injuries were reported. In total, the U. S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is aware of 17 such incidents. In another 5 cases, users reported minor burns and in one case smoke poisoning.
All this was enough for Apple to launch a large-scale campaign, which aims to solve problems with the battery in the MacBook Pro. According to the U. S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, 432,000 laptops will need to be serviced in America alone. Another 26,000 “problem” MacBook Pros are in Canada.
